WHAT DO TRAVELING RADIOLOGISTS DO?

We've Got You!

X ray techs, also called radiologic technologists or radiographers, are critical in assisting healthcare professionals diagnose patients with the use of imaging. By taking X rays of specific and affected parts of a patient’s body, healthcare professionals get a more comprehensive understanding of what is going on inside the patient. Once X rays are completed and available, healthcare professionals are able to properly diagnose and treat their patients. Without radiologic technologists or radiographers, medical teams wouldn’t know what’s happening on the inside or how to fix it! X ray tech responsibilities:

  • Take X rays of patients

  • Work with patients to explain the procedures, and position patients correctly for the procedure

  • Use instruments and cover surrounding areas with lead shields to properly protect patient from radiation exposure

  • Operate and maintain radiography equipment

  • Perform advanced imaging procedures, such as fluoroscopies
